Car crashed into Chase Bank

VALLEJO, Calif. (KRON) – A suspected drunk driver crashed into the Chase Bank building Friday night, the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) announced in a Facebook post. The crash happened around 9:22 a.m. at Chase at 901 Tennessee St, where the driver was arrested.

When officers arrived at the scene, the driver was still in the car; Police suspect the victim was driving. Police said the driver was slurring his words, had bloodshot eyes and was short of breath.

VPD officers asked the driver to get out of the car, and he refused. The suspect, who has not been identified, tried to start the car but did not realize the Infiniti would not start, police said. The suspect was escorted out of the car and arrested.

The officers then searched the Infiniti and found an unregistered AK-47 (pictured above) in the back of the car. Police learned the driver had two prior DUI convictions.
